Many of you will be using one of our fantastic Janesce floral mists and may have noticed that sometimes you will have a bottle where a dark ring or spots can end up floating on the top of the mist. This can create a bit of confusion, and it is easy to assume that something is wrong with your mist, but it is merely a sign that we use concentrated whole plant extracts in our mists, not just floral waters.
To produce these whole plant extracts, the herbs and flowers are soaked for three to four months in an extracting solution. During this time, all of the botanical actives are transferred from plant to the extracting solution. The solution slowly turns from a clear liquid to a rich, dark brown. All of the goodness is now in that liquid and all that is left of the plants are cellulose skeletons.
At this point, the plant matter needs to be separated from this precious liquid. To do this it is tripe micro-filtered. But during this process, tiny plant particles get through, remaining in the liquid. At this time these little bits of plants can’t be seen but because the Janesce plant extracts are then also aged for a number of years to enhance their properties, the plant particles become darker and darker over time. This results in the darker colour of the residue that floats to the top of your bottle. Sometimes you can also see the less dense oils and liquids also gathering around the top. Shaking your mist bottle puts this goodness back into solution, and enables the botanical benefits can be delivered to your skin.
So next time you see that ring, shake it up and spray that goodness onto your skin.
