I often get asked what the Janesce soaking drops do for your skin. As you may know the Skin Soaking Ritual is vital for achieving the trademark Janesce glow. It helps hydrate the very upper layers of our skin. The health of these layers is so important for the beauty and protection of your skin and one of the key things it needs is moisture. Unfortunately, it is very difficult if not impossible to hydrate these layers with the water we drink. Over the decades I have seen hundreds of women who drink a good amount of water but still have dehydrated, dull skin. The best way to hydrate these upper layers is from the outside and that is where soaking comes in. It is the most effective way I know to add precious moisture to these thirsty layers.
At Janesce we encourage you to soak twice a day. Once in the morning to hydrate and gently cleanse your skin and once at night, after you have cleansed makeup and sunblock chemicals away with a gentle cleanser. Two to three soaking drops are added to a basin of warm water. A soft muslin cloth is immersed in the water, gently rung out and then held to your face. This is repeated twice more to give the skin a really good opportunity to absorb vital water.
So why add soaking drops to that water? On a skincare level, soaking drops makes soaking much more effective. They contain a coconut-derived substance which softens the water and breaks down the surface tension of the water that would normally make the skin more resistant to moisture. This enables the skin to saturate much faster than it normally would.
But skin soaking is not just about skin-care, it’s also about self-care. The beautiful fragrance associated with skin soaking gives us a sense of self-care around this ritual, making it more likely we will remember to do it every day.
On a wellbeing level, the different essential oils in the soaking drops have specific benefits for the psyche and for the skin.
The Rose Soaking Drops are very hydrating and softening. Rose is known as the Queen of the essential oils and is very closely aligned with feminine energy. These soaking drops are an ideal choice for women who work in predominantly masculine environments and who want to reconnect with their feminine values and strengths. Rose is a very beautiful fragrance and these Rose Soaking Drops are very popular.
The Lavender Soaking Drops are suitable for all skin types. Lavender is nature’s balancer. It is soothing and healing for the skin and it also balances the nervous system. It will have an uplifting effect on people who are feeling down and a calming effect on people who are feeling stressed or overstimulated.
Soothing Soaking Drops contain a fragrant blend of lavender, patchouli, bergamot, sandalwood and geranium. Together, these essential oils have a soothing, calming effect on the psyche. Bergamot has anti-anxiety and anti-depressive properties and sandalwood promotes relaxation as well as mental clarity.
Refreshing Soaking Drops contain a blend of citrus essential oils. These have an uplifting and energising effect on the psyche. Because of this they are great for use in the morning or during winter when we could all do with a lift. Refreshing Soaking Drops are also great for people with oily skin. The fresh fragrance leaves us with a feeling of cleanliness, without stripping our skin.
Solutions Hydrating Complex Aromatic Drops
Solutions Hydrating Complex Aromatic Drops are from the Solutions range and are therefore more concentrated than the other soaking drops. This blend contains two different varieties of lavender essential oil, making it more potent than the general Lavender Soaking Drops. It is very calming. However, if you are new to Janesce you would be better off starting with the gentler version of the Lavender Soaking Drops before progressing to the Solutions blend.
So, there you have it – you are now familiar with the benefits of using soaking drops and the five Janesce options you can choose from to enhance your skin-soaking ritual and transform it into a beautiful self-care ritual.
